VR
What is VR?
Virtual Reality (VR) is a computer technology that allows users to interact with the virtual world, where scenes and objects feel so real. To be able to experience virtual reality, you need a headset such as the Oculus Rift, Samsung Gear VR, Google Daydream View, etc.
Virtual Reality allows us to enter and be part of the video game as if we were one of the characters, with VR we can experience how to perform heart surgery, as a medium that helps us improve the quality of sports training to maximize performance before the actual match on the field, and many more.
Even though it sounds very futuristic, VR was introduced in the mid-1950s through a device called Sensorama which was able to play 3D movies. It is equipped with a chair and gives off scents and vibrations to make the experience as real as possible.
Timedoor Tips:
Here are tips for those of you who want to experience Virtual Reality for the first time:
- Do not play alone, make sure there are other people around you who are in charge of supervising and protecting you in the real world. Make sure you don’t fall, don’t damage things around you, don’t injure yourself and others.
- Sit down. Even though playing virtual reality standing up can be very challenging, because you have no previous experience, sitting is the safest way for beginner VR users.
- The room is spacious. Make sure the room you are going to use (at least 3 meters from where you are playing) is completely empty without any items.
- Just a moment. Since you are not used to it, in general, beginner VR users will experience headaches. Just use VR for 5 – 10 minutes, then remove your VR headset, take a breath, let it out and relax yourself back in the real world.
