KPI
KPI (Key Performance Indicator) is read as “”cepiye””, and is translated as “”Important Management Indicator”” or “”Key Performance Indicator””. In access analysis, it is often treated as an indicator of the situation with respect to the target value. For example, set goals and KPI as follows. · Site Purpose: Securing the number of requested documents · Target value: Get the number of documents requested by 40 new customers from the site per month · KPI: Number of visits via search engine In this case, in order to achieve the goal, it is necessary to invite new users to the site to request documents. Therefore, as KPI, check access via the search engine that there will be many new customers, not the PV number of the entire site. By doing so, we find that it is highly likely that achieving the goal is difficult if access through the search engine treated as KPI decreases, so we can take countermeasures. It is good to treat KPI as an index to see the situation leading to its achievement against the final goal. For that reason, it is good to choose an index that is relatively more dynamic than the target setting with an index that affects (or has a correlation with) an increase or decrease in the action required to achieve the target in a step slightly before the target. By the way, the indicator of the final goal is called KGI (Key Goal Indicator).
